BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Camp Fletcher is located on a quiet and secluded 300 acre site, 5 miles from exit 1, I-459 in Bessemer, AL. We offer a variety of programs including day, resident, and specialty camps for coed children and youth, ages 6 - 18. Program highlights: beautiful, rustic, woodland setting; safe and structured environment; fun filled activities; accredited by the American Camping Association.

CAMP LOCATION: Camp Fletcher is located on a quiet and secluded 300 acre site, 5 miles from exit 1, I-459 in Bessemer, AL.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Since 1926, Camp Fletcher has been a place for young people to challenge themselves, discover the natural environment and develop new skills. Participants can experience the history as well as the beauty of the natural world around them in a safe and fun environment. We are accredited by the American Camping Association.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leaders-In-Training | Rising Sophomores
LIT’s will spend the fi rst week together as a group, enjoying leadership activities, outdoor skills, and new experiences; in addition to participating in traditional camp activities. The second week connects LIT’s with nature, putting their skills to the test on a three day backpacking trek through the wilderness. Youth reflect on their experiences and celebrate their accomplishments in a special ceremony.

Counselor-In-Training | Rising Juniors & Seniors The CIT program prepares youth to serve in leadership roles at camp, and beyond. Participants are required to complete one week of training and two weeks of service. With guidance from trained staff members, CIT’s plan and assist with all aspects of daily camp programs for younger groups. This program provides signifi cant personal and professional development for youth transitioning from high school to higher education & the workforce.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: A limited amount of full or partial camperships will be available for those who qualify. If you are in need of financial assistance, please contact our office for details on the application process.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp operates 9 months of the year with traditional day, resident and leadership camps in the summer, outdoor educational experiences for students in public, private, and home-schools in the spring and fall, and facility rental for all types of groups from March to October.
